how I made my fake blood (squib)

this is how I made my squib I will show you a step by step tutorial in a picture format

location

Me and my partner where thinking of a couple prime locations but we had concluded that either the lighting was not that good or it was not a good location to shoot. So we chose my house where the lighting was good and the prime location of a drive by scene which my road is quiet for so this was a good place for us to shoot our scene. Here are some pictures

logistics

I have organised all my actor actors and I have shared my contact details with all of them letting them know when the film is going to shot and where the action will take place we have all arranged to meet up at a certain location (my house). Also I have auditioned many people and have concluded which will be the following in my film

We have analysed and concluded that we are going to use the following locations my house which I have checked for lighting and any hazardous things also the drive by scene will be on the same road however the flash back scene of the gentlemen and the boy will be on Soho road. I have organised all the props and costumes which will be provided by me or my partner Rajbir Dubbz also many of their costumes will be provided by themselves.   

questionnaire research

Here is a questionnaire I had conducted it was aimed at 16-19years old which my peers had conducted which I will have to take into consideration for my film. Many people could not choose on a specific genre they liked however opted for the gangster type of film e.g. the godfather majority of the people did not prefer the Asian genres. As many people liked the gangster type of films I think I am going to be in advantage as it is ideal for the type of consumers I am aiming my film at so this is what I will aiming for.

Equipment

Me and my partner discussed that we will need the following equipment is a camera and a tripod which I will be collecting this Friday from my teacher and we will need fake blood patch where it would be used when sneekz (Ezekiel) will be shot. Also we will need a parcel which my partner Rajbir Dubbz will provide us with. Also we will need a car which my friend Raihan Miah has voluntarily helped us with which he will be driving himself as he is one of the members in our film. Also we will need one of the rooms in my friend’s house(Gurmit(Zimmer) another character also as the lighting will be quite dark we may need a couple flash-lights lamps and dimmer switches to create that atmosphere of dim lighting however some lighting in the scene. So that is what I have concluded I will need in my opening sequence.   

Lightings

My job was to check the lighting was ok as we needed a dim and dark setting in our first scene i had to visit Gurmits house the check if the lighting was ok. For our setting it is mainly outdoors so we have to wait after 5 o clock because thats when it starts to get dark because our film constructs and needs a dark setting it is ok that we chose these areas to shoot our film in.

SNEEKZ knocks on the door.

                                             SNEAKS

                                       Open up man!

INT. ZIMMER HOUSE. NIGHT

BODY GUARD1 comes to the door and opens it

                                              BODY GUARD 1

                                        Who you come to see?

EXT.OUTSIDE ZIMMERS HOUSE. NIGHT.

                                                     SNEEKZ

                                Zimmer, tell him it’s me SNEAKS 

 INT. ZIMMER HOUSE. NIGHT

                                             BODY GUARD 1

                                OH! Sorry sir please come in

  

SNEEKZ looks back and looks left and right before stepping inside, he pushes past the body guard

                                                            SNEEKZ

                                         Yeahh that’s what I thought!

 INT. ZIMMER HOUSE. NIGHT

Sneekz walks into a dark room

                                                ZIMMER

                                  AHH SNEAKS take a seat

SNEEKZ shakes ZIMMERS hand and sits opposite him on a table

                                                SNEAKS

                                      Whats going on?

     

ZIMMER looks at Sneaks in the eyes

                                      ZIMMER

                                    You got it?

SNEEKZ reaches in his inside pocket of his coat and pulls out a brown parcel and puts it out on the table

ZIMMER slightly opens the packet and takes a sniff of it

                                                  ZIMMER

           That’s some good stuff right here! Oi Hand me that bag.

ZIMMER hands the bag over to SNEEKZ, Who then shakes hands and leaves.

SNEAKS starts to walk down the road towards his car.

EXT.OUT ON THE ROAD.NIGHT

A car with 3 men inside is driving past, one of the men notice SNEEKZ

                                   Name

               Yo ain’t that him … SNEEKZ?

The driver and the other man at the back quickly look out of the window

                                 Name

                   That’s him!  That’s him!

The car sharply brakes and a gun being cocked back is herd

   SNEEKZ hears the car and turns round

                  BANG BANG

SNEEKZ gets shot and drops to the ground

FLASHBACK

EXT. OUT ON A BUSY ROAD. DAY     

Sneekz is out of school and goes up to a smartly dressed man and ask for money.          

                  YOUNG SNEAKS

               Gimme your money

  

              

                      GENTLEMAN                           

                            What?

                   YOUNG SNEAKS

           Gimme your money man

                     GENTLEMAN                   

                     Are you mad?

Sneekz kicks the older boy and runs

                      GENTLEMAN                

            Come here your dead!

Scene description

End Point of  Last Scene	Sneekz sits down on a table

Point of scene	The audience is meant to understand a drug deal is taking place, and sneekz is a drug dealer and Zimmer is a big man with money buying the drugs off him.
Scene description	Sneekz is sitting at the table with Zimmer, Zimmer asks if he has the parcel, sneaks pulls it out and puts it on the table. Zimmer opens it and checks it out and hands over a bag full of money. The shots used will be a over the shoulder shot from sneaks looking at zimmer when he talks, a close of the parcel and zimmers face are used.

End Point of  Last Scene	A drug deal has just taking place, Sneekz has given a parcel of coke to Zimmer and has left the house and is walking down the start to his car.

Scene description	Sneekz is walking down the road to where he parked his car. A long shot is used to show his surroundings.

Scene description	Sneekz is walking down when a car is driving past and one of the men in the car spots him. He tells the other men who then also recognise him. The car brakes. A point of view shot is used on one of the men in the car looking at sneaks.

music

The style of music I am looking for is an urban Handsworth type music this will include a quite hip hop sound about it I have not yet decided on the music I am going to put in my video. it will appear at the start when my ident is running then there will be a fade out it will be a upbeat tempo beat which will be an instrumental in the background. There will also be a couple sound effects such as when the main character knocks on the door you will hear the thump noise also in the drive by you will hear the gun shot noise and the car driving.

9 frames

In the first frame my ident will appear were lighting will come down then there will be a first knocking on the door where the main character (sneekz) will deliver a parcel to the man at the door (zimmer). As sneekz walks down the street across the road will be a car full of rival gangsters they will stop and shoot sneekz as gets killed there will be a series of different shots of him on the floor dying. There will be a fade out then a narration of Handsworth and flashback of his life as child. The boy will go up to the gentlemen and ask him for a pound then the gentlemen will look away not taking any notice of the little kid.
