film classifications

I have conducted some research for the rules of classifying a film. The examiners are specialised for a certain sector they do daily views on these films and see which category it is aimed at, before they are release it they rate it. Video games and Pornography submissions are classified into two categories extreme realities. DVD's are watched in the board viewing rooms on plasma screens to reproduce the home viewing experience, so examiners before they release the film view it recreate the effect taken see what affect it has on the audience.

Foreign they have linguistic examiners if there is work which is not spoken in the languages they will hire an interpreter. The examiners have to see the following

  • General context-plot,characters,outline of individual scenes
  • Timing of classification moments, including camera angles, types of shots on and off screen moments
  • Bad language, sex and drug reference
The board will publish it however the distributor may cancel certain scenes and could change the category. This is where I got the following information from, click on the following link below
